Has all the tools to be a shutdown pro cover corner: great anticipation, excellent athleticism, good physicality, and strong ball skills. Gets a nice jam at the line, stays with his man, and reads quarterbacks exceptionally well before either busting up the pass or making a play on the ball. A leader.
While solidly-sized and pretty fast, he doesn't overwhelm with length or deep speed. Needs to lean on his play-reading skills and physical edge. Durability has been an issue, and he may need a little more muscle mass for the NFL.
Well-rounded cover cornerback with big-play ability.

Dennard (5-foot-11, 199 pounds) earned the 2013 Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back, finishing his career with 10 picks across 40 starts. Although Dennard is not a straight-line burner (4.51 forty), he offers highly explosive short-area athleticism (11-foot-2 broad jump), and was one of college football's most physical cover men over the past three years. Dennard's playing style perfectly fits today's NFL as a press-man corner who disrupts routes. He fills a big need for the Bengals.
