Profootballtalk reports extension talks between the Chiefs and Alex Smith are moving "very, very slowly."

PFT's Mike Florio expects talks to pick up after the draft, and for Smith to ultimately earn an extension worth $14-$17 million annually. That would be quite a payday for a player who was benched only a year and a half ago. Coming off the best season of his career, Smith turns 30 on May 7.
The Chiefs claimed Williams off waivers from the 49ers in November last year, and he tore his left ACL a week later. Williams has now torn his left ACL twice in his NFL career. He'll be a long shot for Kansas City's 53-man roster.
Dwayne Bowe has been working with a nutritionist and personal trainer for the last two months.

Bowe says it's the first time in his career he's hired the combo to prepare for a season. There were early-season rumors last year that Bowe was playing too heavy, though it wasn't evident on his game tape. His production picked up late in the season as Alex Smith showed an improved willingness to pull the trigger on intermediate and downfield throws. Bowe is entering his age-30 season. He'll be worth a look as a WR3 in re-draft leagues.
