Coach Bruce Arians expects DB Tyrann Mathieu (knee) to begin training camp on the PUP list.
"I think Ty is going to up to the wire," Arians said. "I still anticipate him on PUP, but he refuses to believe it. That's a good thing." Mathieu had never even heard of the PUP list before Wednesday. The kid is relentless and is aiming to take the field for day one of training camp. We can't see it happening, however. Being ready for the season opener is much more realistic.
TFY Draft Insider Tony Pauline reports the Patriots are "incredibly high" on Pittsburgh QB Tom Savage.
Some in the New England organization are now referring to Savage as "Tom #2," with Tom Brady being "Tom #1" of course. Savage has been generating a ton of buzz in recent weeks and has even had to turn down workout requests due to a jam-packed schedule. He has a rife for an arm but has his flaws. Savage will need to sit for a couple years. Ryan Mallett will be a free agent next March.
The Oakland Tribune reports the Raiders are higher on Michigan OT Taylor Lewan than Texas A&M OT Jake Matthews and Auburn OT Greg Robinson.

Lewan is widely considered the third-best tackle in this year's class behind both Robinson and Matthews, but he's still a top-notch prospect and likely would have been the No. 1 pick last year. ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. described Lewan as a "nasty street fighter" and thinks he could go as high as No. 2 overall to the Rams. The Raiders sit in the No. 5 slot and are far from set at the tackle spots.
